Splashy Bear
Privacy policy
What the Splashy Bear game collects, why, and the choices you have. Last updated October 6, 2026.
This policy covers Splashy Bear, a mobile game made by BearSoft LLC ("BearSoft", "we", "us") of New Orleans, Louisiana. Splashy Bear is for players of all ages. There are no accounts to create, and the game never asks for your name, email address, phone number, photos or location.
What stays on your device
Your game progress stays on your phone or tablet: your coins, best scores, unlocked bears and gear, Fish Book, missions and settings. We don't receive it. It's removed if you uninstall the game or use "Hold to reset progress" in Settings.
When you first open the game it asks what year you were born, so it can keep the game right for your age. The game works out an age group from your answer (under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 and over) and keeps only that group on your device. Your birth year isn't stored or sent anywhere.
The leaderboard (players 13 and over)
If you're 13 or older, your best score on each difficulty can appear on the global leaderboard. For this we store:
- a random player ID the game creates, which isn't connected to your device, your Google account or you
- a nickname the game makes up from a fixed list of words, such as "Brave Otter 27" (you can't type your own, but you can roll a new one)
- your best score, the difficulty, which bear you played, how long the run lasted, and whether you used a second chance
Players under 13 can look at the leaderboard, but their scores are never sent to us. Leaderboard data is stored with our database provider, Supabase.
Ads
Splashy Bear shows ads only when you choose to watch one, for example for a second chance or double coins. The ads come from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect information from your device such as your IP address, the advertising ID, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Google's use of this information is described inHow Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Players under 13 get ads that are marked as directed to children: they're not personalized and are limited to family-friendly content.
- Players in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before ads are personalized, and can change their choice at any time with "Privacy choices" in the game's Settings.
- Everyone can reset or delete their advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in their device's settings.
In-app purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The game receives a confirmation from Google Play so it can unlock what you bought. Every item you can buy can also be earned by playing.
Service providers
We work with these providers to run the game:
- Google (AdMob for ads, Google Play for downloads, purchases and crash reports)
- Supabase stores the leaderboard
- Unity, the game engine, may receive limited technical information about the device (such as its model and operating system) under Unity's own privacy policy
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it. Information is processed and stored in the United States.
Children
Splashy Bear is made for all ages, including children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13: they never post to the leaderboard, and the ads they see are child-directed and not personalized. If you're a parent or guardian and have questions, or believe your child's information was collected, contact us below and we'll take care of it.
How long we keep it
Leaderboard entries stay up while the game is available, unless you ask us to remove them. Ad data is kept according to Google's policies.
Your choices
- Leaderboard: roll a new nickname at any time from the leaderboard screen.
- Removing your leaderboard scores: email us your current nickname (shown on the leaderboard screen) and we'll delete your entries.
- Your progress: use "Hold to reset progress" in Settings, or uninstall the game.
Security
The game talks to our leaderboard over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and the leaderboard only accepts the information described above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the game handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
