From Midwest websites to software built nationwide

BearSoft began in 2018, building custom websites and web tools for businesses and organizations across the Midwest. Those projects kept running into the same limit: clients needed their website to do more, like quoting jobs, managing listings, syncing inventory or talking to other systems.

So that's where we went. We expanded nationwide, set up our headquarters in New Orleans, and shifted our work toward custom applications, integrations and mobile products: a warehouse routing engine for a multi-store retailer, the MapFence Estimator plugin, a command center for 504 Sites, and BLOC, a trading card game now live on Google Play and the web.

We still care about craft and design. That's where the "digital dens" come from: software that feels solid, looks good and is a comfortable place to work.

What we believe

How we approach every project

Problem first, technology second

We don't sell a stack. We work out what needs to change in your business, then pick the simplest tools that get it done.

Plain talk

You'll hear honest estimates, clear tradeoffs and early warnings, in plain language rather than jargon.

Built to be maintained

Readable code, sensible architecture and documentation, so your software stays useful long after launch.

Accountable, wherever you are

We're headquartered in New Orleans and work with clients across the country. You can always reach the people who build your software.

How we work

From first call to launch

  1. 01

    Discover

We learn how the work flows today: the people, the systems and the workarounds. You get a clear scope, plan and estimate before any code is written.

  2. 02

    Design

We map out the screens and the data model with you, and settle the hard questions early while changes are still cheap.

  3. 03

    Build

We work in short cycles and show you working software along the way, so you can steer the project as it takes shape.

  4. 04

    Launch & support

We deploy, train your team and stay on to maintain and improve what we built as your business grows.

Looking for a simple small-business website instead? That's what 504 Sites, our sister service, is for.

Let's build something solid

Tell us what you're trying to fix or build. We'll reply with honest next steps, even if that means pointing you somewhere else.
